It was inspired by the crack/wrinkle in the clay which can be seen in the middle of the tile, which became the nose of this wonderful face. The discussion between the young boy and myself when I was asked to help him mix the proper colour for the skin tone was incredible. Local wildlife often have special ecological relationships with their native vegetation; if a native plant disappears, the wildlife they support will disappear and the ecological environment will become much less diverse and therefore less stable. Native plants act as a source of seeds; they keep natural areas populated with native plants. They provide shelter and food both directly and indirectly for their surrounding ecosystems.
